Owen RC Year-End Celebration

Moulmein Owen RC had its Year-End Celebration at Restaurant on 31 December 2011. Programme include Mass Birthday Celebration, 8-course Lunch, Karaoke and Bingo Games. One hundred residents had participated in the celebration.

Moulmein Owen Karaoke Activity Group hold its Year-End Gathering on Wednesday, 28 December 2011 at Moulmein Owen RC Centre. More than 15 singing members attended this gathering.

The above floor party for residents of level 2 and 8 of Block 47 Owen Road was held at Owen RC Centre on 20 December 2011 at 7.30pm

Floor Party for Block 47 Residents

15 families, all living at Block 47 Owen Road 's 7th storey gathered at RC Centre for a Floor Party organised by Moulmein Owen RC, on 13 December 2011 at 7.45pm. They are glad to meet here and interact with their fellow neighbours, and some have requested for more frequent session of this kind. However, the next session will be held next Tuesday for residents living in the same Block at 8th floor, and the existing participants are also welcome to join in for this coming floor party.

70 residents have registered for this outing on 11 December 2011 to briskwalk at Punggol Waterway at 7.30 am.

Chocolate Orchid

This "Chocolate" orchid (Oncidium Sharry Baby) has attracted many visitors in WOC World Orchid Show.

This is one of the most famous of the Oncidium hybrids that is well known for its fragrance of chocolate (although some say vanilla or white chocolate). This plant is easy to grow and can produce several flower spikes with hundreds of flowers.

Notes:
World Orchid Show visitors can visit the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay for an exclusive preview ahead of its official opening in June 2012. The Flower Dome is a 1.2 hectare conservatory (about the size of 2.2 football fields) which replicates the cool-dry climate of Mediterranean and semi-arid subtropical regions like South Africa and parts of Europe like Spain and Italy. Visitors can expect to see groves of olive trees, palms and baobabs, as well as orchid displays.

The Flower Dome will be open to World Orchid Show visitors from 14 – 20 November. Shuttle bus services will be provided daily between Sands Expo and Convention Centre and Gardens by the Bay.
