The stretch of Campell Lane was closed from 18 September 2009 to 16 October 2009 and converted into Deepavali Festival Village with traditional decorations and unique handicrafts, saris and spices from India, the Philippines and Thailand.
Deepavali Festival Village provides an exciting insights into Indian arts and culture. Visitors will also get to see traditional bangle making, a special arrangement just for Deepavali or the Festival of Lights. Organisers are also using the festival to showcase the rich heritage of Indians here.
Other attractions at the event include a trade fair, a street parade and a Deepavali countdown concert on leading to the festival.
