Senior Citizens Week 2009 - Community Services

In conjunction with the Senior Citizens Weeks 2009, Moulmein Owen Residents Committee’s Senior Citizens Group organises a community project called “Cleaning up the beach at East Coast Park” on Sunday, 15 November 2009 from 7.00 am to 9.00 am. The group covers more than a kilometre distance along the beach at East Coast Park and have fruitfully collected 5 bagages of trash.

No doubt it is just a small stretch along the beach at East Coast Park, but Owen RC mobilisation, bringing together like-minded people who share an interest in conserving, protecting and enjoying the beach and the environment. This project also help participants to know more about the “Singapore, Litter-Free” Campaign and how it has contributed to the cleanliness of our city, which is labelled “clean and green” by many.

Our seniors help to clean up the beach as part of their contribution to the community and to protect the ecosystem of our beaches. And Every Singaporean has the social responsibility to keep our community and city clean.

Note: A Big Thanks to our 45 SCC members who have participated in the above meaningful project.
