PA eRAS Briefing

Peoples Association conducted eRAS (Electronic'Registration & Attendance-Taking Systems Briefing at Pek Kio CC on 28 August 2009 from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

Its aim is to help GROs to accurately track actual participation of activities organised by CCs and RCs.

This eRAS system uses Excel Spreadsheet & OMR (Optical Mark Recognition - scanner) to help GRLs to conduct Registration & take Attendance.

Each RC will be given 1 unit of this system comprises: 1 laptop, 1 bar-code scanner and 1 magnetic card reader. Upon receipt of this system, RC will have to scan all participants NRIC Number or Passion Card Number for attendance whenever they come to participate in any CC/RC activities..

Just wonder will PA employ a paid staff to assist GRLs in registration of these participants. Or will many of the active OLD GRLs are computer savvy enough to operate this system? In future the report for the attendance of this evening briefing session, like 35 participants, will be invalid unless each individual NRIC or Passion Card number are being scanned through the system. And PA will only trust and rely the information provided by these system than from the given figures of your tickets sale.
